Movies Movies Movies

Mini-Skirt Mob (1968) - **. With a stellar b-movie cast including Jeremy Slate, Patty (Bad Seed) McCormack, Harry Dean Stanton (as 'Spook'!), gorgeous Sherry (Danny Thomas Show) Jackson, all put through the paces by bouffanted she-devil Diane McBain. This should've been more fun.

Fur: an Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) - ** 1/2. This could've been viewed as an odd, David Lynchesque time-piece except they put a disclaimer at the beginning, keeping the viewer wondering what the hell this has to do with Arbus?? Basically nothing.

The Hangover (2009) - *** 1/2. Consistently funny and well structured comedy with nice twists and turns. Most comedies of this nature grow tiresome after awhile but don't miss the closing credits!

The Promotion (2008) - ***. Well written little comedy has two retail workers bucking for same job. Three-dimensional characters helps push this beyond Cliche-ville. Check it out.
